[아츠앤컬쳐] 오폴레는 폴란드 노래의 수도로서 1960년대부터 시작된 음악축제가 유명하며 큰 사랑을 받은 수백 곡의 노래가 널리 알려져 있다. 이 도시는 유명한 축제 전통 외에도, 많은 볼거리가 있는데, 폴란드에서 가장 오래된 도시 중 하나로, 역사적인 연립주택이나 구시가지의 좁은 골목 구석구석에는 800년의 역사가 숨어있다. 오데르강의 볼코섬과 파시에카섬은 오폴레시의 ‘녹색 폐’이다. 계절에 관계없이 도시는 독특한 분위기, 건축 그리고 따뜻한 환대로 관광객을 황홀하게 만든다.

원형 극장과 국립 폴란드 노래 센터

가장 유명한 곳 중에 전설적인 오폴레 원형극장이 있다. 역사 깊은 유럽축제로 폴란드에서 가장 유명하고 독특한 대중음악 행사인 폴란드노래축제가 열리며 수십 명의 아티스트와 수백 개의 히트곡을 배출했다. 여름은 이곳에서 가장 유명한 폴란드 리듬에 맞춰 쿵쿵거리며 시작하는 것이 반 세기가 넘는 전통이 되었다. 오폴레의 대표적 폴란드 뮤지컬은 열정적인 국립폴란드노래센터에서 나온다.

좌석을 갖춘 원형극장은 현대적이며 완벽한 상호작용이 가능한데, 1920년대부터 현재까지의 폴란드노래 역사를 볼 수 있다. 이 유명한 오폴레축제의 팬들은 이곳에서 매회 축제의 자세한 정보를 얻고, 많은 유명인의 실제 소품과 의상을 가상으로 입어볼 수 있다. 누구나 좋아하는 노래를 녹음하고 이메일로 보낼 수 있는 녹음 부스도 인기가 있으며, 수준 높은 전문 녹음실도 있다.

광장 시장 및 폴란드 노래 명예의 거리

세련되고 아름다운 주택에 둘러싸인 오폴레 광장시장은 이 도시에서 가장 매력적인 장소다. 시청은 피렌체의 베키오궁전보다 약간 작지만 거의 흡사한 이탈리안 양식이다. 이 청사에서 가장 빼어난 65m 탑의 꼭대기에서 매일 정오에 오폴레 시가(市歌)를 연주한다. 시청 맞은편에 관광 명소 ‘폴란드 노래 명예의 거리’에 매년 폴란드 음악인들의 이름과 사인이 들어간 청동별이 추가되며 현재 60개가 넘는다.

오폴레의 베니스와 피아스트 탑

도심에서 벗어나 파시에카섬의 조용한 주거지역은 매력적이고 낭만적이다. 이른바 므위누프카 운하의 ‘오폴레의 베니스’라고 불린다. 밤이 되면 강물에 비친 오래된 주택들의 모습이 매우 아름답다. 운하를 따라 1km가 넘는 대로는 사이클링, 조깅 및 노르딕 워킹 애호가에게 천국 같은 루트이다.

운하 근처에는 유명한 역사적 건물인 ‘피아스트 탑’이 있다. 이는 폴란드에서 오래된 방어 요새 중 하나다. 높이는 35m, 첨탑을 포함하면 약 42m에 달하며, 전국 폴란드 노래축제의 TV 생중계 중 오폴레 원형극장 너머로 그 실루엣을 볼 수 있다. 요새는 990년경에, 탑은 13세기 말~14세기 중반에 건축되었다. 탑의 내부는 중세시대 지하감옥, 부엌, 방 및 경비실로 사용되었다.

Opole - the City of Music

Opole, owing to a music festival that has been held since the 1960s, and which has promoted hundreds of famous and much-loved songs, is best-known as the capital of Polish song. While the city is famed for its festival traditions, it has far much more to offer.

Opole, in fact, is one of the oldest cities in Poland. Here, the wealth of 800 years of history is hidden behind every corner of its historic tenement houses and in the narrow streets of the old town. “The green lungs” of the city are the islands of Bolko and Pasieka situated on the Oder River. Whatever the season, the city entrances with its unique atmosphere, architecture and hospitality of its inhabitants.

Amphitheatre and National Centre of Polish Song
Every tourist should at least once stand on the stage of the legendary Opole Amphitheatre. One of the oldest European festivals and the most recognized popular music events in Poland – the National Festival of Polish Song – takes place here. This unique stage has provided the start for the career paths of dozens of artists and has created hundreds of hits. This is where, to the rhythm of the most famous Polish songs, summer begins with a stomp and has been doing so every year for over half a century. The administrator of the musical showpiece of Opole is the National Centre of Polish Song, a museum with the greatest passion for singing in Poland!

It is modern and fully interactive, with its seat located in the Amphitheatre. The museum exhibition presents an outline of Polish song history from the 1920s to the present day. Fans of the famous Opole festivals will find here detailed information about each edition of this event, as well as many real props and costumes of celebrities that can be tried on virtually. The song recording booths, where everyone can record their favourite song and send it by e-mail as a souvenir, are also a hit - and for the more advanced visitors, a professional recording studio has been opened.

Market Square and Polish Song Walk of Fame
Surrounded by stylish, beautifully renovated tenement houses, Opole market Square is one of the most charming places in the city. The heart of this place is the Italian-style Town Hall – almost a copy, albeit slightly smaller, of the Florentine town hall – the Vecchio Palace. The most characteristic element of the Town Hall is the 65-metre tower, with the Opole anthem played atop it every day at noon. Presently, it is the seat of the city authorities. Located opposite the entrance to the Town Hall, it is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Capital of Polish Song and one of the vivid musical accents in the city - Polish Song Walk of Fame. From year to year, more and more bronze stars with the names and autographs of polish performers, composers and songwriters are added to it. Today there are over sixty of them.

Opole Venice and Piast Tower
Separating the city centre from the quiet, residential area on Pasieka Island, is one of the most charming and romantic places in Opole, call Opole Venice on the Młynówka Canal. The old tenement houses reflecting in the water surface look best at night. The boulevards spanning along the canal are over a kilometre long. It is a dream route for cycling, jogging and Nordic walking enthusiasts.

Near to the canal is the most famous historic building in Opole call Piast Tower. It is also among the oldest defensive structures in Poland. Being 35 m high, and approximately 42 m if we include the spire, its silhouette can be seen above the Opole Amphitheatre during live TV coverages of the National Festival of Polish Song. It was already located around the year of 990. The tower was likely built at the end of the 13th or, as indicated by recent studies, the mid-14th century. The insides of the tower used to house a dungeon, kitchen, chamber and a guardhouse in Medieval.
