오스트리아의 연말

[아츠앤컬쳐] 오스트리아에서는 다양한 방법으로 크리스마스와 새해를 축하한다. 이러한 이벤트가 인기 있는 데에는 몇 가지 이유가 있다.

첫째는 긴 연휴 기간이다. 대부분의 회사, 학교, 대학 및 공공 기관은 크리스마스 이브인 12월 24일부터 동방박사 방문을 기념하는 공현 대축일인 1월 6일까지 문을 닫는다. 가족, 친구들과 함께 휴가를 보내며 연말을 즐길 수 있는 좋은 기회다.

전통적인 크리스마스 축하 행사는 가까운 가족들끼리 집에서 24일 저녁에 한다. 오후에는 며칠 전 크리스마스 마켓에서 구입한 크리스마스트리를 장식하며 시작하여 멋진 쿠키와 선물, 저녁 식사를 준비한다. 마지막으로 촛불이 켜진 트리 아래에 선물을 놓고 크리스마스 캐롤과 함께 평화로운 분위기가 만들어진다. 전 세계에서 가장 인기 있는 캐롤 중 하나는 1818년 오스트리아 잘츠부르크 근교 작은 마을 오베른도르프에서 만들어진 요제프 모어 작사 프란츠 그루버 작곡의 “Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht”(고요한 밤 거룩한 밤)이다.

늦은 밤 11시경, 사람들은 아름답게 눈이 내리는 시골에서 혹은 도시에서 교회를 찾아 예배를 드린다. 싱글이나 가족이 없는 사람, 혼자 쉬고 싶은 사람들을 위해 휴가 기간에 많은 호텔에서 풀 보드(아침, 점심 및 저녁 식사)와 특히 12월 24일과 31일에 즐거운 여흥과 함께 멋진 패키지를 제공하며 이 시간을 잊을 수 없게 만드는 많은 새로운 인연들이 만들어지고 있다.

둘째, 연말연시에 많은 회사들이 직원들에게 인센티브를 제공한다. 직원들은 휴가에 스키를 즐기거나 멋진 선물을 사고 인생의 발전 계기로 삼는다. 많은 가족들이 크리스마스 직후에 알프스로 가서 약 10개의 리프트가 있는 작은 리조트나 또는 83개 이상의 리프트로 여러 계곡이 연결된 곳에서 스키를 즐긴다. 같은 슬로프를 두 번 사용하지 않고도 오전 8시부터 오후 5시까지 스키를 탈 수 있다. 크로스컨트리 스키를 좋아하거나 고산의 경치 좋고 아름다운 코스를 걷는 사람들을 위해 알프스의 일부 지역은 3m 이상의 눈으로 덮여 있으며 스키 또는 스키두, 눈 오토바이를 통해서만 갈 수 있다.

스키나 하이킹을 좋아하지 않는 사람들에게는 환상적인 스파가 대중스파나 호텔에서 제공되며 많은 온수 야외 수영장이 있다. 스키 후, 소위 Après Ski는 인생을 즐기는 시간이다. 많은 펍(일부 눈으로 된!)과 바에서는 따뜻한 와인(글뤼바인) 또는 강한 브랜디(야거티)를 넣은 스페셜티를 제공하며, 새 친구를 사귀기도 한다.

연말 마지막 날에는 호텔, 레스토랑, 궁전에서 다양한 대중적인 파티와 무도회 이벤트가 열리며, 스트라우스, 란너 등 국제적으로 유명한 오스트리아 작곡가의 음악이 연주되고 춤을 추는데 주로 왈츠 또는 랜틀러를 춘다. 복장 코드는 전통 복장이나 또는 예를 들어 겨울궁전의 새해 무도회 이벤트에 턱시도를 입는다. 이런 종류의 이벤트는 오후 8시에서 오후 10시 사이에 시작되어 다음날 이른 아침에 끝난다.

어떤 방문객은 빈 무지크페라인(빈 음악협회)의 유명한 신년음악회에 직접 가서 빈 필하모닉이 연주하는 음악을 듣는다. 이 음악회는 전 세계 여러 곳에 중계된다. 때로는 한국 시간으로 오후 7시에 영화관에서 라이프 스트림으로 즐기거나 later.ct에서 다운로드할 수도 있다. 오스트리아의 겨울은 온 가족이 즐거운 시간이다.

END OF YEAR

In Austria there are many ways to celebrate Christmas and New Year. These events are very popular because of many reasons.

First, long public holiday time, most of the companies, schools, University and public institutions are closed from 24th of December, Christmas eve to 6th January, Epiphany day, the Feast of The Three Kings. A great opportunity of making holidays, spending time together with family, friends and enjoying the last days of the year.

Traditional Christmas celebration is taking place on 24th evening at home with close family members. It’s starting in the afternoon with decoration of the Christmas tree mostly natural, which was bought several days before on the Christmas Market, then preparation for dinner with nice cookies and presents. Finally handover of the present, which have been placed under the candle lighted tree, in a peaceful environment together with Christmas Carols. One of the most popular all over the world is the carol of “Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht”(Silent Night or 고요한 밤 거룩한 밤) composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber and lyrics by Joseph Mohr in the small town of Oberndorf closed Salzburg in Austria.

Later this night around 11pm people are going to service at the local church mostly in beautiful fresh snow, especially in the country side, but in the cities as well. For singles and persons which have no families, or which want to be alone there are wonderful packages offered by many Hotels for the holiday season including full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) combined with nice entertainment especially at 24th and 31st of December. To make this time unforgettable: Many new relationships are being found.

Second, at the end of year the new year most companies offering incentive to their employees which are using this additional money for making ski holiday and/or buying nice presents or necessary improvements in life. Many families are starting their Holidays in the Alps right after Christmas to enjoy Skiing in smaller resorts with about 10 Lifts or large with over 83 Lifts and several valleys connected to each other. You can ski from 8am up to 5pm without using the same slope twice. For someone who like more Cross-country Skiing or walking many beautiful courses available with great scenery of our high mountains, some of the location in the alps are covered with more than 3m of snow and can be reach only by ski or by Skidoo, a motorcycle for snow.

For those who don’t like skiing or hiking fantastic SPAs are available public or in Hotel, mostly with outside pools with hot water. After skiing, the so called Après Ski is happening the time to enjoy life. Many of pubs (some made of Snow!) and Bars are offering Hot wine (Glühwein) or Special Tea with strong Brandy (Jägertee) to warm up, make new friends and get in contact with local environment. At the last day of the year many public parties and ball events are hold in Hotels, Restaurant and in Palaces where music from Strauss, Lanner and many other famous Austrian and international Composers are played and enjoyed for dancing. Austrian favored dance is Walz or Ladler in the countryside. The dress code is either traditional dress or for example at the New Year Ball at the Emperors Winter Palace a Tuxedo. This kind event is starting between 8pm or 10pm and ends early morning.

Some of the visitors are going directly to the famous New Year Concert at the Vienna Musikverein to listening Music performed by the Vienna Philharmonic. This Concert is transmitted in many places all over the world. Sometimes you can enjoy the life stream in a Korean Cinema at 7pm Seoul time or download later. Wintertime in Austria is an enjoyable time for the whole family.
