크로스노 시의 유리 헤리티지 센터

[아츠앤컬쳐] 2012년 6월 19일에 개장한 유리 헤리티지 센터는 현대 인터랙티브 박물관이자 유리 제조업체로, 폴란드 크로스노 시에 위치한다. 이 센터는 방문객에게 유리 불기 쇼, 유리 공예 체험, 및 수제 유리 장식품 만들기 수업과 같은 활동이 포함된 투어를 제공한다.

크로스노 유리의 역사는 16세기 전반, 크로스노 아카이브에 최초로 유리 작업장이 언급되었던 때로 거슬러 올라간다. 구시가지 광장 지역에서 발견된 창유리, 유리 타일, 그릇 등의 유물들이 마을에 유리 작업장이 존재했었다는 증거이다. 하지만 안타깝게도 생산방식에 대한 구체적인 정보는 남아있지 않다.

현대 유리산업은 제1차 세계대전 이후 도시에 처음 등장했다. 1923년 당시로서는 거대하고 현대적인 공장이 크로스노에 세워진 것이다. 이곳은 1924년부터 현재까지 활발히 유리를 생산하고 있으며 이제는 전 세계적으로 인정받는 유명 브랜드가 되었다.

유리 헤리티지 센터는 과거 세대가 남긴 유산을 보존하고 크로스노 유리의 우수성과 아름다움을 전파하고자 개관했다. 새로운 트렌드의 유리 제품을 선보이는 곳으로, 센터 개장 당시 ‘유리의 도시’라는 이름을 공식적으로 부여받았다.

방문객들을 위한 센터 소개

본관은 다양한 기술이 사용된 유리 제품의 제작과 장식을 담당한다. 본관 4층에 위치한 유리 공방에서는 유리 불기 체험을 통해 직접 공예품을 만들어볼 수 있다. 다음 단계인 3층 아트 워크숍에서는 페인팅, 스테인드글라스, 용광로, 불꽃 작업장 등과 같은 다양한 유리 장식 공정을 자세히 살펴볼 수 있다.

- 유리 성형체험이 포함된 관광 프로그램으로 전통 유리 제조기술을 배울 수 있다. 이는 본인에게 유리 공예가로서의 강점이 있는지 확인해볼 수 있는 절호의 기회다.

- 센터 내 매장은 국내외 다양한 종류의 유리 제품을 판매하고 있다. 이 중 유리 헤리티지 센터의 워크숍과 작품실에서 제조한 작품들이 큰 비중을 차지한다.

- 유리 공예 워크숍은 개인과 단체 모두 참여 가능하다. 참가자들은 워크숍 동안 스스로 유리 장식을 만들어보며 유리 직업과 관련된 여러 비밀을 들을 수 있다.

Glass Heritage Centre in Krosno

Glass Heritage Centre, located in Krosno, is a modern interactive museum and a glass manufacture. It was opened on June 19, 2012. Glass Heritage Centre offers tours combined with glassblowing shows. Moreover, glass decoration workshops, educational activities and production of hand-made and hand-decorated glassware.

The history of Krosno glass dates back to at least the first half of the 16^th century, when in official archives of Krosno the first glass workshops were mentioned. Some of the artefacts found in the area of the Old Town Market Square: parts of window glass, glass tiles and dishes also confirm the presence of the glass workshop in the town. Unfortunately, no detailed information about the production itself has survived.

The modern glass industry appeared in the city in the interwar period. In 1923 a large and a modern factory for the time was built. The production of the company which started in 1924, continues to this day, Krosno glass has become a well-known and appreciated brand all over the world.

Glass Heritage Centre was opened at 2012 to preserve the heritage of past generations, promote the beauty of Krosno glassware, show new trends and arrange exhibitions for displaying works of glass art. On June 2, 2012 the name City of Glass was officially given to the town.

For visitors

In the main building there is a section dedicated to the production and decoration of glass items using a wide range of techniques. The glass workshop is located on the level - 4 of the main building. Here you can take part in a demonstration of hand blown glassmaking. On the next level – 3 at artistic workshops, you can take a closer look to many different processes of glass decoration. There is painting, stained glass, fusing furnace and finally the flameworking workshop.

- Sightseeing combined with glass forming shows it’s the perfect opportunity to learn about traditional glassmaking techniques and try your strength as a glassmaker.

- Company store offers a wide range of glass products from national and foreign glassworks. A large part are our own products - made in CDS (Glass Heritage Centre) workshops and workrooms.

- Glass craft workshops for individuals and organized groups. During the workshop classes participants create glass decorations by themselves learning about the various secrets of the glass profession.
