Piedra del Peñol

One of the most important tourist attractions to visit is El Peñol of Guatapé, also known as “La piedra del Peñol” (The Peñol’s Rock). It is a 220-meter-high monolith located between the municipalities of Guatapé and El Peñol, which has 702 steps to the top. Once you climb the enormous rock, you will find a magnificent view of the Guatapé reservoir. There is also a wide variety of handicrafts and sweets typical of the region that can be tasted on top of the rock.

This is a unique marvel of nature and man, from where you can see the panorama of the reservoir of more than 2,200 hectares, which consists of several islands in green tones surrounded by calm waters that invite contemplation and rest.
