[아츠앤컬쳐] 토스카나의 가장 흥미로운 도시 중 하나인 루카는 역사와 음악의 도시다. 역사적으로 루카의 기원을 재설정하는 문제는 오늘날에도 여전히 연구 주제이다. 루카라는 이름은 Celto-Ligurian Luk라는 단어에서 유래한 것으로 ‘늪지대’ 또는 ‘얕음’을 의미하며 빽빽한 초목 사이의 빈 공간을 말한다. 최근의 고고학적 발견은 도시의 에트루리아 기원을 시사하고 있다.

루카는 중세시대에 소통을 위한 중요한 길목에 위치했다. 바로 순례자들과 지중해부터 북유럽까지 다니는 고가의 실크 옷 상인들이 다니는 프란치제나 길이다. 루카의 직조공과 상인들은 유럽 법정의 정치적 무게감만큼이나 세련된 자수 패브릭으로 뛰어난 평판의 기회를 놓치지 않았다.

가장 중요한 볼거리 중 하나는 벽(walls)으로 루카에서 가장 잘 알려진 이미지다. 이 인상적인 기념물은 온전히 유지되어 75ha의 녹지를 평균 높이 12m에 길이 4km 이상의 벽으로 손상되거나 중단된 곳이 없이 두르고 있다. 이 벽은 붉은 벽돌로 만들어졌는데 연속적인 장막과 요새 형태의 방어벽으로 16세기 중반과 17세기 중반 사이에 지어졌다. 또한 세계 유일의 독특한 산책로로서 루카의 기념물, 교회, 궁전을 향해 탁 트인 전망을 제공한다.

루카는 음악의 도시다. 루카는 오페라 ‘라보엠’과 ‘나비부인’의 작곡가인 거장 자코모 푸치니(1858~1924)의 출생지다. 또한, 작곡가이자 르네상스시대 트롬본 연주자인 니콜라오 도라티(1513~1593)가 이곳에서 태어나 활약했다. 그는 원래 악기 연주자였으나 성악과 주로 가곡으로 구성된 음악책을 출판했다. 유명한 바이올리니스트이자 작곡가인 프란체스코 제르미니아니(1687~1762), 작곡가이자 첼리스트인 루이지 보케리니(1743~1805), 오페라 작곡가인 알프레도 카탈라니(1854~1893)도 루카 출신이다.

유명하고 귀한 이 전통 위에, 대중에게 보다 우수한 음악을 들려주기 위해 루카시와 아름다운 교외의 권위있는 장소에서 사랑과 존경을 담은 많은 행사가 벌어진다. 이 외에도 루카는 이 지역에서 생산되는 풍부한 재료로 만든 특산품과 전통 요리로 지역의 다양성을 반영하고 있다. 루카의 전형적인 요리인 파로 수프와 토르델리 알라 루케제는 아주 맛이 우수하다. 라비올리(만두)는 치즈(파마산 또는 페코리노 치즈)를 가득 채운 것으로 고기 소스와 함께 제공하고 있다.

LUCCA -The town of history and Music

Today let's talk about Lucca, one of the most interesting cities Tinuscany. The reconstruction of the origins of Lucca is still today the subject of historical research. Its name "Lucca" derives from the word Celto-Ligurian Luk, which means "swampy place" but also "light" and indicated an empty space in the dense vegetation. Recent archaeological discoveries suggest instead an Etruscan origin of the city.

In the Middle Ages, important communication routes passed through Lucca, first of all the Francigena road of the Pilgrims and of the merchants of precious silk clothes who, from the Mediterranean travelled far to the markets of northern Europe. The weavers and merchants of Lucca knew moments of great notoriety for the refinement of the embroidered fabrics, and political weight in the courts of Europe.

One of the most important things to see are the walls. The Walls are the best-known
image of the city of Lucca. This impressive monument, wholly intact, stretches without interruption for more than four kilometers, with an average height of 12 meters and surrounded for its entire perimeter by a green area of 75 hectares. These walls, made of red bricks and characterized by a succession of curtains and bastions, were built between the middle of the 16th and of the 17th century, as a defense.

Lucca's walls are a unique promenade, the only of its kind in the world, which allows an uninterrupted view on its monuments, churches, palace. Lucca is the City of Music. The town is the birthplace of Maestro Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924 the composer of La Boheme and Madama Butterfly, Nicolao Dorati (1513 -1593), an Italian composer and trombone player of the Renaissance, active in Lucca. Although he was primarily an instrumentalist, all of his published music is vocal, and consists mainly of madrigals. Francesco Germiniani (1687-1762) was also born in Lucca, a famous italian violinist and composer, Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805), an italian composer and cellist and Alfredo Catalani (1854-1893) an Italian Opera composer.

On the basis of this illustrious and precious tradition, love and worship for excellent music are cared for and promoted in Lucca through many events that enhance both the quality of the musical heritage presented to the general public, and the relation of its executions and representations with the most distinguished and prestigious places in the city and in the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Lucca is a city in which the wealth of ingredients reflects the variety of their land that allows the production of specialties and traditional dishes using local products. Very deliciuos is a typical dish: the Soup of farro of Lucca or Tordelli alla lucchese. It consists in ravioli (만두) filled with cheese (Parmesan or pecorino cheese) served with meat sauce.
