유대인의 요리 문화
폴린박물관에서 열리는 새로운 전시회 ‘What's Cooking? 유대인의 요리 문화’(2022. 3. 11~12. 12)는 세계 속 유대인의 식문화 전통에 관한 것으로 시공간을 넘나드는 요리 여행이다. 디아스포라 생활 속 유대인들의 다양한 전통과 음식문화를 보여주며, 유대인들이 이주하는 동안 요리와 제품을 옮긴 과정도 보여준다. 이 박람회는 유대인 요리의 독창성과 그것을 정의하기 어려운 이유를 설명해 준다.

‘Such a Landscape’ 전시회
탁월한 폴란드 현대미술가 중에 빌헬름 사스날이 최근 ‘Such a Landscape(그런 풍경)’ 전시회를 성공적으로 개최하여 7개월 동안 약 76,000명이 관람하는 놀라운 결과를 이루었다.

수선화 사회 교육 캠페인
폴린박물관이 주최하는 교육 및 기념 행사는 매년 4월 19일, 즉 바르샤바 게토 봉기 발발 기념일에 개최된다. 거의 10년 동안 바르샤바에서 수백 명의 자원 봉사자가 봉기에 대한 인식을 제고하기 위해 노란 종이 수선화를 나누어 주고 있다. 캠페인은 polin.pl 웹사이트에서 온라인으로도 진행되었다. 이 특별한 날에 소셜 미디어에 #WarsawGhettoUprising 또는 #RememberingTogether 해시태그를 추가하길 권장하고 있다.

POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews

POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews (POLIN Museum) is the first and only Museum dedicated to restoring the memory of the history of Polish Jews over the course of a millennium. As an educational and cultural institution, the Museum is dedicated to encouraging dialogue in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect.

POLIN Museum was founded at a symbolic location in the centre of Warsaw: Muranów – the area of pre-war Northern District inhabited mainly by Jews and transformed by the Germans into a ghetto during the Second World War. The Museum completes the area’s symbolic message: while the nearby Monument to the Ghetto Heroes commemorates Polish Jews who perished in the Holocaust, the Museum is a reminder of how they lived.

1000-year history of Polish Jews
At the heart of POLIN Museum is the Core Exhibition, a journey through 1000-year history of Polish Jews – from the Middle Ages until today. The Core Exhibition is divided into seven historical periods beginning in the 10th century, coming forward to the present, and opening out to the future. What’s Cooking? Jewish culinary culture
New temporary exhibition titled What’s Cooking? Jewish culinary culture (11 March – 12 December 2022) at POLIN Museum is devoted to Jewish culinary traditions. By showing what Jews eat and why, we acquaint our visitors with Jewish religion and culture in various corners of the globe.
The exhibition is a culinary journey across time and space. It presents a variety of traditions and meals Jews used to eat while living in the diaspora. It also tells the story of how Jews, while migrating, brought with them various dishes and products. The exposition demonstrates both the uniqueness of the Jewish cuisine and the reasons why it is so difficult to define it.

Such a Landscape
The most recent temporary exhibition of the paintings by Wilhelm Sasnal, one of the most outstanding contemporary Polish artists, was titled Such a Landscape. The exhibition was a great success—over the period of seven months, it was viewed by nearly 76,000 people, which is an outstanding result.

Daffodils Social-Educational Campaign
On the initiative of POLIN Museum, this educational and commemorative event is held every year on 19 April, namely on the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. For almost a decade, hundreds of volunteers in Warsaw have been handing out yellow paper daffodils to raise awareness of the Uprising.

The campaign went online, too – the program of events is available at polin.pl website. On this special day, we encourage everyone to add the hashtags #WarsawGhettoUprising and #RememberingTogether on their social media.

Friends of POLIN is a Facebook profile for English-speakers. It informs on the events that take place at POLIN Museum and shares information about its initiatives. Anyone can join a unique virtual tour of the most important places in Polish-Jewish history by watching Common Roots videos on YouTube.
