[아츠앤컬쳐] 키엘체는 유럽연합에 속하는 시비엥토크시스키에주의 수도로, 약 50만 명이 거주한다. 바르샤바에서 180km, 크라쿠프에서 120km 거리에 있으며, 유네스코에 등재된 시비엥토크시스키에지질공원 내에 위치한다. 키엘체는 독특한 지질학적 특성으로 수억 년 전의 세계를 보여주고 액티브한 레크레이션 활동을 제공하는데, 5개의 자연 보호 구역, 동굴, 숲, 수많은 등산 루트와 사이클링 루트 등을 꼽을 수 있다.

꼭 들러야 할 곳으로 카지엘니아채석장과 현대적이고 인터랙티브한 지질교육센터, 카추프카언덕 경사면의 식물원 등이 있다. 특히 카지엘니아채석장의 바위 속에는 폴란드에서 가장 아름다운 원형극장이 있다.

자연이 만들어 낸 명소로 독특한 기념물과 흥미롭고 다양한 문화 체험을 할 수 있는 곳에 키엘체 중심부의 캐슬 힐이 있다. 17세기 이전 크라쿠프 주교의 바로크 양식의 궁전에 폴란드 회화가 있는 국립박물관이 있고, 옆으로 12세기의 가톨릭교회는 현재 초기 바로크 양식의 축복받은 동정녀 마리아의 대성당으로 재건되었는데, 인테리어는 화려한 로코코 양식이다.

키엘체의 오락과 미식의 중심지는 시장 광장으로, 역사적 건물에 레스토랑과 수많은 클럽, 바가 있다. 또한, 구시가지에는 네티즌이 선정한 폴란드에서 가장 아름다운 거리 중 하나로 뽑힌 헨릭 시엔키에비치의 쇼핑가에 거의 2km에 걸쳐 수많은 상점과 아울렛이 있다.

문화 애호가와 전문가들은 키엘체에서 열리는 다양한 행사들을 높이 평가한다. 음악은 타르기 키엘체의 재즈페스티벌 <Memorial to Miles>을 주최하는 키엘체문화센터와 시비엥토크 쥐스카필하모닉을 들 수 있다. 댄스 애호가라면 유럽 최고의 현대발레단 중 하나인 키엘체댄스극장에 가 보아야 한다. 또한 ‘쿠부시’의 인형극이나 연극을 보고, 유럽 유일의 장난감과 놀이 박물관인 해먼드박물관에서 가족 오락을 즐길 수도 있다. 예술품 전시회 뷰로와 키엘체디자인협회에서는 현대미술을 접할 수 있다.

키엘체는 중요한 유럽무역박람회가 열리는 장소이자 비즈니스센터다. 매년 키엘체 무역박람회는 70개 이상의 국내외 행사와 전시회 또는 700개의 컨퍼런스 등을 개최한다. 또한, 키엘체기술파크는 벤처 개발을 위한 완벽한 장소로 세계 각국에서 스타트업 제안서를 준비하고 있으며, 비즈니스와 과학을 결합하려는 연구와 제안들이 측량 및 폴란드 계측 중앙사무소의 시비엥토크시스키에연구소에서 진행 중이다.

키엘체는 최고 수준의 스포츠가 열리며 특히 핸드볼클럽은 주기적으로 챔피언스리그에서 경기를 하고 많은 폴란드 챔피언십 메달리스트가 있다. 2016년에는 웜자 비베 키엘체팀이 유럽 베스트팀 타이틀을 거머쥐었다.

Kielce

Kielce is the capital of one of the regions of the European Union, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, which together with the surrounding Functional Area has about 0.5 million inhabitants and is located only 180 km from Warsaw and 120 km from Krakow.

The entire area of the city is located within the Świętokrzyskie Geopark, which belongs to the worldwide network of UNESCO Geoparks. Kielce, thanks to its geological peculiarities, reveals the world hundreds of millions of years ago to tourists and attract visitors to take advantage of the rich offer of active recreation, which is made possible, among others, by nature reserves (there are 5 of it within the city borders!), caves, forests and numerous hiking and cycling routes.

Places that everyone should see include the former "Kadzielnia" quarry with the most beautiful amphitheater in Poland, built into the rocks, the modern and interactive Geoeducation Center in the former quarry in Wietrznia, or the Botanical Garden on the slope of Karczówka hill.

The natural attractions are complemented by unique monuments and an interesting, diverse cultural offer. The most interesting in this sense is the Castle Hill, located in the heart of Kielce. The 17th-century former Cracow Bishops' Palace, which is one of the best-preserved examples of a Baroque residence in Poland, is home to the National Museum with its unique Gallery of Polish Painting.

Right next to it, from the 12th century, stands the Catholic church - now the Cathedral Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which architecture, after reconstructions, has an early baroque character, while the richly decorated interiors are dominated by the rococo style. The centre of entertainment and gastronomy in Kielce is the Market Square, around which in historic buildings we can find a variety of restaurants and numerous clubs and bars. Complementing the offer of Kielce's old town is the shopping promenade of Henryk Sienkiewicz awarded by the Polish internet users as one of the most beautiful streets in Poland, which at a length of nearly 2 kilometers offers numerous shops and service outlets.

Lovers and experts of culture appreciate the range of events organised in Kielce. Music fans will find an interesting programme offered by the Kielce Cultural Centre, the organiser of the excellent Memorial to Miles Targi Kielce Jazz Festival, or the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic. Dance lovers must go to a performance by one of Europe's best contemporary ballet troupe, the Kielce Dance Theatre.

Family entertainment at the highest level is guaranteed by the "Kubuś" Puppet and Actor Theatre, the Museum of Toys and Play and Europe's only Hammond Museum. Attractive meetings with contemporary art are held, among others, by The Art Exhibition Bureau in Kielce (BWA Kielce) and Kielce Design Institute.

Kielce is an important European trade fair and business centre. Every year Kielce Trade Fairs organize more than 70 international and national events - trade fairs, exhibitions and 700 conferences. Perfect conditions for the development of new ventures are offered by Kielce Technology Park, which has prepared a proposal dedicated to startups from all over the world. The research and scientific offer for bringing business and science together at the highest world level will be provided by the Świętokrzyskie Laboratory Campus of the Central Office of Measures and Polish metrology, which is under construction in Kielce.

A stay in Kielce is also a guarantee of sport emotions at the highest level, which are provided primarily by the handball club periodically playing in the Champions League, a multiple Polish championship medalist, winner of the title of the best team in Europe in 2016 - Łomża Vive Kielce.
