물의 도시
세계 유일의 오데르강 후미는 폴란드에서 가장 큰 호수 중 하나이며 해양 수역과 만난다. 슈체친의 25%는 수면이다. 자신의 유닛이나 대여한 모터보트 또는 카약에서 호수에 숨겨진 놀라움을 발견하고 감탄할 것이다.
세계의 항해 중심지 세계에서 가장 큰 범선들이 정기적으로 도착하며 아름다운 범선들은 수백만 명의 방문객들을 끌어들이고 있다. 수많은 이벤트가 열리는 국제레가타결승전은 슈체친의 항구적인 한 부분이 되었고, 매년 개최되는 ‘자글레(Żagle)’는 여름을 즐기기에 아주 좋은 행사다.
정원 도시
슈체친은 떠다니는 정원이라고 불리며, 그 풍부한 녹지와 독특한 위치는 활동적인 레크리에이션과 평화로운 휴가를 위한 이상적인 환경을 조성한다. 가장 유명한 야스네 브워니아 광장과 중앙의 넓고 푸른 골목들, 수많은 공원과 숲은 자연과 한층 가깝게 해 준다. 특히 주목할 만한 곳은 세계에서 가장 큰 묘지 중 하나로 독특한 분위기를 지닌 중앙 묘지다. 현대성과 조화를 이루는 풍부한 역사 독일의 역사는 독일인 외에도 프랑스인, 스웨덴인 그리고 러시아인들에 의해 드러날 것이다.
나폴레옹의 언덕, 스웨덴 문장(紋章)으로 장식된 시계, 예카테리나 2세의 집, 마이덴 타워와 호화롭게 장식된 궁전들은 슈체친의 기념물 중 일부에 불과하다. 과거의 유물들은 도시 근대사의 상징들과 인접해 있다. 그 예로 1970년 폴란드 시위의 첫 희생자가 발생한 솔리다리티 스퀘어가 있다. 오늘날에는 스케이트보드 마니아와 시위대가 모두 이곳에서 만나고 슈체친의 전후 역사에 관한 현대적인 전시회가 열린다.
독특한 건축의 도시
미에치스와프 카르워비치 필하모닉 본부는 건축 애호가들을 슈체친으로 끌어들인다. 세계적인 수준의 건물 디자인은 가장 명망 있는 유럽연합 현대건축상 미스 반 데어 로에를 포함하여 많은 국제적인 상들이 증명한다. 그 뿐만이 아니라 이웃해 있는 슈체친국립박물관의 격변대화센터 또한 높은 평가를 받고 무엇보다도 유럽 최고의 공공 공간으로 인정받았다. 더불어, 해양과학센터와 헬레나 마이다니에츠 원형극장의 재건을 비롯한 더욱 인상적인 프로젝트들이 있다.

Szczecin - a city living at a slow pace
What is the reason for the unprecedented climate prevailing in Szczecin and nowhere else? A location at the meeting point of borders, closeness to nature, less obvious proximity to the sea or maybe the smell of chocolate hovering above the boulevards? Tourists agree on one thing: you will not find here the rush typical of large cities. A huge space, the third among cities in Poland, allows you to slow down and enjoy life. In Szczecin, the possibilities of a metropolis meet with excellent conditions for relaxation, regardless of how we understand it.
A city on water
World-unique Odra backwaters, one of the largest lakes in Poland and accesses to marine waters. A share of 25% of Szczecin’s surface is water. Surprises hidden in the reservoirs can be admired from your own unit, or a rented motorboat or kayak.
Sailing capital of the world
It is here that the world’s largest sailing ships arrive on a regular basis. International regatta finals with numerous accompanying events have become an element of Szczecin’s identity for good. The world's most beautiful sailing ships attract millions of visitors. Held each year, "Żagle" is a great event to enjoy the summer.
A garden city
The richness of green terrain and the unique location of Szczecin create ideal conditions for both active recreation and peaceful vacation. The city promotes itself as a Floating Garden. Wide green alleys in the centre, numerous parks, forests and backwoods surrounding it and finally the most popular Jasne Błonia Square allow you to be close to nature. Particularly noteworthy is the Central Cemetery: one of the largest cemeteries in the world, and also a park with a unique atmosphere.
A rich history in harmony with modernity
In addition to the Germans, traces of their history will also be found by the French, Swedes and Russians. Napoleon’s Hill, a clock decorated with the Swedish coat of arms, house of Tsarina Catherine II, Maiden’s Tower or richly decorated palaces - these are only some of the souvenirs of former stewards of Szczecin. Relics of the past are adjacent to the symbols of the city’s recent history.
An example is the Solidarity Square - a place where the first victims of December ‘70 fell. Today, both skateboard enthusiasts and demonstrators meet here, and under their feet there is... a modern exhibition about the post-war history of Szczecin.
A city of unique architecture
Headquarters of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic attract enthusiasts of architecture at its best to Szczecin. The worldclass design of the building is testified by numerous international awards, including the most prestigious - European Union Prize in the contemporary architecture competition named after Mies van der Rohe. That’s not the only gem. The neighbouring and already mentioned Breakthrough Dialogue Centre has also been appreciated by numerous authorities and recognised, among others, as the best public space in Europe. More impressive projects are on route: the Maritime Science Centre and a reconstruction of the Helena Majdaniec Amphitheatre.
