말리 로시니(Mali Lošinj)는 6,100명의 주민이 살고 있는 섬에서 가장 크고 가장 인구가 많은 마을로, 관광객들은 아폭시오메노스 박물관(Museum of Apoxyomenos)이라는 독특한 박물관을 탐험할 수 있다. 이 박물관에는 1996년 아드리아 해에서 발견된 기원전 2세기 또는 1세기의 고대 그리스 운동선수의 동상인 크로아티아의 아폭시오메노스(Croatian Apoxyomenos)가 헌정되어 있다. 가장 완벽하고 잘 보존된 것으로 유명한 이 청동상은 박물관 개관 전에 피렌체와 파리 루브르 박물관에서 전시되었다.

The Island of Losinj

Lošinj is an amazingly beautiful and green island with a mild climate and rich biodiversity, situated in the northern part of the Adriatic Sea, in Croatia. It is part of the larger Cres and Lošinj Archipelago, which comprises numerous small islands, islets, rocks, and reefs. Scattered among them are numerous beautiful bays, beaches, and harbors.

There are more than 1000 plant species across the island, of which 939 belong to the indigenous flora, including 230 types of medicinal plants. With this magical blend of plants and aromatic herbs, centuries-old pine forests, supreme air quality, and the crystal blue sea, offering almost open-air aromatherapy, it is not surprising that Lošinj is well-known as the island of vitality.

The Island of Lošinj, with a rich cultural heritage dating back to the Stone and Bronze Ages, thrived under Venetian rule, already had 105 commercial ships, and, together with Cres, 101 long-distance sailing ships by 1796. During the Austro-Hungarian Empire, it was home to six shipyards and ranked second, after Trieste, with 21 long-distance sailing ships built in 1868.

This museum is dedicated to the Croatian Apoxyomenos, a bronze statue of an ancient Greek athlete dating from the 2nd or 1st century BC, discovered in the Adriatic Sea in 1996. Known for being the most complete and best-preserved of its kind, before the opening of the museum, the bronze statue was exhibited in Florence and the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The waters off Lošinj are home to a colony of several hundred dolphins, visible from ferries and boats. Beyond swimming and diving with these dolphins, tourists also have the unique opportunity to adopt one, a special act that supports conservation efforts. Croatia is strongly committed to marine conservation and protection to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Adriatic Sea's marine ecosystems and species.
