[아츠앤컬쳐] 리구리아는 역사와 예술, 음식, 와인뿐만 아니라 자연 경관이 특별하여 이탈리아에서도 매우 흥미로운 지역 중 하나다. 이곳은 북쪽의 알프스와 아펜니노산맥 아래 리구리아해가 찰싹거리는, 이탈리아에서도 가장 작지만 보물같이 놀라운 곳, 친퀘테레다.

색색의 집들과 절벽에 매달린 산책로, 계단식 슬로프가 있는 도발적인 마을 친퀘테레(다섯 개의 땅)는 포르토 베네레, 팔마리아, 티노와 티네토, 라스페치아만 서쪽 끝 작은 섬과 함께 1997년에 유네스코 세계문화유산에 등재되었다.

또한 ‘시인의 만’으로 유명한 리구리아해 동쪽 끝에 깊고 넓은 라스페치아만도 빼놓을 수 없다. 이 아름다운 만은 바닷가 마을 포르토 베네레와 레리치 사이에 펼쳐져 있다. 만의 가운데에 있는 중심 도시 라스페치아는 늘 바이런 경, 조지 샌드, P.B. 셸리, 미국 시인 에즈라 파운드, 이탈리아 작가 솔다티, 시인 단눈치오와 같은 작가와 예술가들이 선호하는 장소였다. 오늘날에도 레리치에서는 위대한 이탈리아 시인이자 그리스 고전 번역가인 안젤로 토넬리가 큐레이팅한 것으로 고전 및 철학 문화, 신화에 관한 행사가 펼쳐진다.

레반테의 리비에라 리구레를 따라서 매혹적인 동화 같은 풍경이 펼쳐진다. 세계적인 작가들에게 사랑받는 포르토피노, 친퀘테레, ‘시인의 만’은 해안을 따라 제노바에서 마법의 베르실리아로 가는 길에 펼쳐져 있다.

포르토피노, 고대로마의 자연철학자 大플리니우스(23~79 AD)가 언급한 포르투스 델피니(돌고래의 항구)도 매우 독특한 곳이다. 기 드 모파상은 “이 고요한 만의 가장자리를 따라 초승달 모양의 작은 마을 포르토피노가 놓여 있다.”라고 묘사했다.

포르토피노는 그림 같은 항구와 유명 인사 및 예술 방문객과의 역사적 연관성으로 유명한 오래된 어촌이자 휴양지이다. 오늘날 지중해의 이 멋진 휴양지는 고대 해양 문화를 자랑하며 예술가, 유명인사, 작가들에게 사랑받고 있다.

또한, 파라다이스만을 조망할 수 있는 아름다운 작은 마을 카몰리도 있다. 높게 쌓여 화려하게 칠해진 집들이 특징으로, 전형적인 로맨틱한 바닷가 마을 카몰리는 수세기 동안 전 세계 관광객을 매료시킨 장엄한 자연 경관을 갖고 있다.

카몰리의 생선 축제 또는 박람회는 필수다. 5월 둘째 주 일요일에 열리는 이 행사는 거대한 프라이팬을 사용하는 것으로 유명하며 이제는 전설이 되었다. 약 3톤이나 되는 엄청난 생선 튀김과 멸치를 나눠준다! 생선은 모두 무료이며 마을 밖의 군중을 끌어들이고 있다.

리구리아의 음식도 유명해서 모든 음식의 종류와 풍부함에 관해 몇 시간이고 말할 수 있다. 그 중 널리 알려진 엔초비페스토 파스타와 포카치아를 소개한다.

Liguria

One of the most interesting regions to visit in Italy is certainly Liguria not only for its history, works of art, variety of food and wines, but for its natural specificity, this territory washed by the Ligurian Sea and dominated by the Ligurian Alps and Ligurian Apennines to the north, Liguria is one of Italy’s smallest regions, worldwide famous for its amazing Cinque Terre, that keeps many more treasures.

Very famous is the suggestive villages of the Cinque Terre (meaning “Five lands”) with their colored houses, cliff-hanging trails and terraced slopes, are Unesco World Heritage Sites since 1997 together with the town of Porto Venere and Palmaria, Tino e Tinetto, small isles in the western end of the Gulf of La Spezia.

We should also remember the famous Gulf of Poets or Bay of Poets, formally know as Gulf of La Spezia, a deep and wide bay on the eastern tip of Liguria Cost. This beautiful gulf stretches between the sea villages of Portovenere and Lerici. The larger town of la Spezia lies in the middle of the bay, and it is the provincial capital of Liguria. This gulf has always been a preferred destination for writers and artists such as Lord Byron, George Sand, P.B. Shelley, the American poet Ezra Pound, the Italian writer Soldati and the poet D’Annunzio. Even today in Lerici there is one of the most important cultural events on classical and philosophical culture, Mythologos, curated by one of the greatest Italian poets and translators of Greek classical works: Angelo Tonelli.

Enchanted, fairytale-like sceneries await all along the Riviera Ligure di Levante. Beloved by the writers that have told their story to the world, Portofino, Cinque Terre, and the Gulf of Poets greet us one after the other, as we work our way down the coast from Genoa to magical Versilia.

Portofino , Portus Delphini (Port of the Dolphin) referred from the old roman natural philosopher Pliny the Elder,(23-79 AD) is also a very unique place. “A small village, Portofino, stretches crescent-shaped along the edge of this calm bay.” Thus wrote Guy de Maupassant when describing Portofino, tiny sea village on the Italian Riviera. Portofino is an old fishing village and holiday resort famous for its picturesque harbor and historical association with celebrity and artistic visitors.

Today this splendid sea resort with its Mediterranean personality, also boasts an ancient marine culture, and of course is another one of those spots beloved by artists, famous personages and writers that have long sung its praises.

We should mention also Camogli an exquisite borgo (small village) with a view on the Gulf of Paradise. A typical, romantic seaside village characterized by highly-stacked and vivaciously-painted houses, Camogli is part of a magnificent natural setting that has enchanted tourists the world over, for centuries. The fish sagra or fair in Camogli is a must; held every second Sunday in May, it is famous in part for the use of a gigantic frying pan, by now legend. A lot of fried fish – around 3 tons, give or take a few anchovies! The fish is all free, which has a tendency to attract crowds from outside the town.

Liguria is famous for its food, we could spend hours recounting all the varieties and riches of food. Today we want to indicate some famous dishes famous all over the world such as Pasta with pesto, stuffed anchovies and focaccia.
