도시의 여름 풍경을 보자면, 8월 초에 지역 최대의 패션 페스티벌 ‘산도미에슈 패션 스트릿’이 열린다는 사실을 빼놓을 수 없다. 산도미에슈와 인접 도시인 타르노브제크, 스탈로바 볼라에서 고안해 낸 것으로 문화와 패션 행사인데, 폴란드 전역의 젊고 재능 있는 디자이너들이 파이널 패션쇼에서 자신들의 작품을 선보인다.

여름의 끝자락에는 올해로 31회째를 맞는 산도미에슈 음악 축제가 그 끝을 장식한다. 행사 기간 동안 팝 음악의 유명 스타들이 무대에 등장한다. 이어서 이 로열 시티의 관광 시즌은 ‘영 와인 페스티벌’ 덕에 자연스럽게 연장되어 이곳에서 로컬 와인 트레일을 홍보하고 그 제품들을 알린다.

폴란드 지도에 있는 많은 흥미로운 장소들 중 산도미에슈는 수세기동안 고유의 매력을 자랑하는 곳 중 하나다. 어떤 이들은 도시의 역사적 아름다움을, 또다른 이들은 줄무늬 부싯돌 형태의 특이한 암석층이 존재한다는 사실을 높이 산다. 연이은 역사적 시대의 흐름에 따라 형성된 이 로열 시티는 지난 천년의 기억을 고스란히 간직하고 있는 독특한 건축 양식으로 놀라움을 주고 흔치 않은 지역의 자연 색채들로 황홀하게 한다.

Sandomierz - where tradition meets modernity
Situated in the heart of Central Europe, Sandomierz is a city where tradition and modernity, regionalism of the East and the dynamics of the West meet, creating a unique atmosphere of a place adapted to the needs of contemporary tourism. The initiatives of the Vistula city follow the concept of an open city that is friendly to visitors.

Sandomierz is famous for its incredible cultural heritage and unique monuments, an example of which is the Church of St. Jakub, in whose walls there is an echo of many historical epochs. The royal views of the city are enriched by the Kazimierzowski Castle and the Gothic cathedral basilica. Sandomierz is also a treasury of legends, myths and many items with an interesting history, including unique gloves of Queen Jadwiga or Sandomierskie Chess.

The picturesque surroundings are full of natural attractions, including the Pepper Mountains - one of the oldest in Europe, astonishing with their unique local colour. The natural wealth of the city is the presence of the queen of Polish rivers - the Vistula, around which many interesting initiatives are concentrated, and the place itself encourages relaxation and recreation.

In the summer scenery of the city, at the beginning of August, the largest fashion festival in the region takes place - Sandomierz Fashion Street, an event with a cultural and fashion profile, which is a grassroots idea of the three neighbouring cities: Sandomierz, Tarnobrzeg and Stalowa Wola. Young, talented designers from all over Poland present themselves during the final fashion show.

The end of summer holidays is marked by the musical tones of the popular Music Festival in Sandomierz, which will be held for the 31st time this year. The biggest stars of pop music present themselves on stage during the event. The tourist season in the Royal City is naturally extended thanks to the Young Wine Festival, which perfectly promotes the local Wine Trail and its products.

Among the many interesting places on the map of Poland, Sandomierz is one of those that for centuries has been proud of its extraordinary attractiveness. Some attribute this magnetic power to the historic beauty of the city, others to the presence
of an unusual rock formation in the form of striped flint - the stone of optimism. The Royal City, shaped by successive historical epochs, amazes with its unique architecture, preserving the memories of the past millennia, and enchants with its unique regional natural colours.
