[아츠앤컬쳐] 자모시치는 유럽을 비롯해 세계에서 가장 아름답고 귀중한 도시로 꼽히며 ‘르네상스의 진주’, ‘북부의 파도바’, ‘이상적인 도시’ 등의 별명을 갖고 있다. 1992년에는 유네스코 세계 문화 유산 목록에 등재되어 소중한 건축 유산의 일부가 되었다. 

자모시치는 관광객들에게 매우 개방된 도시다. 흥미를 불러 일으키는 역사적 건물들은 도시의 방어벽 안쪽에 위치하고 있어 관광객들의 접근이 쉬우며, 자모시치의 구시가지에는 역사적 가치를 지닌 200개 이상의 유물들이 있다. 또한 이 도시의 중심에는 시청과 그림같은 연립 주택들이 위치한 마켓 스퀘어(The Great Market Square)가 있다. 연립 주택들은 오색의 알록달록한 외관과 풍부한 프리즈, 얕은 돋을새김 기법과 장식품 등으로 구별된다. 시청 건물은 매우 거대하다. 52m 높이의 탑과 부채꼴로 펼쳐진 양 계단이 있는 현대적인 실루엣은 18세기 후반으로 돌아간 듯한 느낌을 준다.  

도시의 가장 가치 있는 기념물 중에는 자모시치 대성당, 후기 르네상스 시나고그(유대교 회당), 전(前)수상의 궁전, 자모시치 아카데미 및 프란체스코 교회가 있다. 그 중 자모시치 대성당은 가장 웅장한 폴란드 사원 중 하나로 꼽힌다. 수차례 전쟁에서 승리한 헤트만이 헌납한 자원들로 베르나르도 모란도가 설계하고 얀 자모이스키가 건축했다.

구시가지의 건물들 외에도 자모시치에는 볼거리가 많다. 예를 들어 재미있는 동물원이나 아름다운 공원, 현대적인 영화관, 폴란드에서 가장 오래된 심포닉 오케스트라, 갤러리, 구시가지에 있는 많은 식당과 카페들이 있다. 또한 여름이 되면 마켓 스퀘어는 거대한 극장과 콘서트 홀이 되고, 노천 카페가 즐비해진다. 

자모시치는 모든 방문객들에게 숙소를 제공하고 있다. 또한 이 도시는 여러 문화 이벤트로도 유명하다. 1년 내내 시민들과 방문객들은 많은 이벤트에 참여할 수 있으며 그 예로 축제, 역사 재현 행사, 콘서트, 스포츠 이벤트 등이 있다.

Zamość

Zamość belongs to the most beautiful and precious urban complexes in Europe and in the World, it gained names „Renaissance Pearl”, „Northern Padua” and an „Ideal City”. In 1992 it was placed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, becoming part of exclusive heritage of architectural jewels.

Zamość is exceptionally visitor-friendly. The most interesting historical buildings are situated inside the town’s defensive walls, which makes them easily accessible to tourists. The Old Town in Zamość includes over 200 objects of historical value. Its center is The Great Market Square with the town hall and picturesque tenement houses distinguished by colorful facades and a wealth of friezes, bas-reliefs and ornaments. The massive edifice of the Town Hall dominates the Rynek. Its contemporary silhouette, with a 52-m tower and monumental fan-shaped double stairway date back to the second half of the 18th century.

Among the most valuable monuments of the city are The Zamość Cathedral, The Late Renaissance Synagogue, The former Chancellor's Palace, The Zamość Academy and The Franciscan Church.

The Zamość Cathedral is one of the most magnificent Polish temples. It was designed by Bernardo Morando and founded by Jan Zamoyski as the Hetman’s votive offering for his numerous victories.

Apart from the Old Town buildings there are many other attractions in Zamość, such as an interesting zoological garden, a beautiful park, a modern cinema, the oldest symphonic orchestra in Poland, galleries, many restaurants and cafes in Old Town basements as well as pavement cafes in summer when the The Great Market Square becomes a huge theatre and concert hall.

The town offers accommodation to all kinds of visitors. Zamość is famous for its variety of cultural events. Residents and tourists can take part in numerous events taking place throughout the year, including festivals, historical reconstructions, concerts and sports events.
