Salento and Cocora Valley

How to get to Salento and Cocora Valley

Is conveniently located close to Armenia and Pereira, both cities have airport and bus terminal connecting with the major cities. You can choose the option that suits you! From there, you can take bus and taxi services going to Salento all day long.

What to do?

• Hike the Cocora Valley by foot or horse ride. Exploring the majestic mountains, wax palm tree and the coffee culture developed within the mountains.
• Take a look at the main square of Salento, where coloful traditional houses provide an spectacle in every corner. It’s a short but worth spectacle to the eye, you can plan your next trip while enjoying the town.
• Just head 12 miles northwest from Armenia to reach the town of Quimbaya, where you can navigate the river on slow-moving bamboo as you gaze upon the soft mountainous landscape of Quindío. The experience includes a traditional peasant lunch with chicken and, of course, the possibility of diving in for a swim in the river.
• Metalwork and ceramics form the main archaeological collection of the Quimbaya Gold Museum in Armenia are housed in a building designed by architect Rogelio Salmona.
• Bike riding the town and the surrounding, exploring the most famous sightseeing places with incredible views both form the town and the mountains.
